May 2nd, 2010 - 1:07 a.m.        For the first time since I could remember, my father pulled me close to him, wrapping his arms around my head and holding it tightly against his chest while I cried. I could hear his heart beat. He told me to go say "good night" to my mother.
       "She won't yell at me, will she?"
       He said she wouldn't.
       And he was right.
       When I went down the stairs to where she waited, and did as I was told, she put her arm around me and said the same. In a soft voice, she said, "I'm tired, so you go to sleep too."
       This was the voice I've always wanted to hear. A voice brimming with gentle love. As I was heading
